"In late 2022, the Warwick Township Police Department embarked on the PLEAC process. With several significant projects already on the horizon, we knew that we would need the support of a professional to assist with the process. After speaking with several surrounding agencies, we chose LEAS as our police accreditation consultant. LEAS, through Craig and his team, provided us with a comprehensive understanding of the commission's accreditation standards and guidelines. LEAS’s knowledge was fundamental in efficiently guiding our department through each step of the process. Their meticulous review identified areas where improvement or adjustment was needed and helped us navigate the complex documentation requirements, providing templates and examples when necessary. LEAS played an integral role in expediting our department's accreditation, and we are grateful for their assistance in achieving this significant milestone." ~ John Ogborn, Lieutenant
"The Springfield Township Police Department in Montgomery County received a Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Services Accreditation grant in late 2021. We then met with and contracted with Law Enforcement Accreditation Services, and the process was a game-changer. In about eighteen months, LEAS worked closely with our Accreditation Manager to ensure that our policies met the PLEAC standards and kept us on track by selecting proofs of compliance and building our assessment in PowerDMS. We are grateful for the guidance and professionalism received and highly recommend that agencies consider partnering with LEAS to achieve accredited status." ~ Michael Pitkow, Chief of Police
" I would like to take the time and opportunity to explain Throop Police Department's experience going through the accreditation process with Law Enforcement Accreditation Services LEAS. The process started with evaluating all department policies, forms, station recommendations and standard operating procedures. The entire experience working with LEAS was enlightening to all members of the department. LEAS worked hand and hand explaining and recommending changes to meet PLEAC standards during this process we had to follow.
Working together created a culture within the department for all officers to perform their job responsibilities professionally with everyone doing the same thing. I would highly recommend LEAS as a consultant with any size department to attain the high standard of Accreditation." ~ Andrew Kerecman, Chief of Police
"As a small department we found it hard to find the time and personnel to properly complete our accreditation. As a result, we contracted with LEAS to assist. LEAS was easy to work with and each member of their team brought different talents and suggestions to the effort. With their help we were able to complete our accreditation in a timely manner." ~ Michael Regan, Chief of Police
"Our agency had been trying to work towards PLEAC accreditation for several years but did not have the personnel or time to dedicate to this difficult and complex project. We teamed up with LEAS who did a complete review and update of our policies and procedures to ensure that they followed PLEAC standards and best practices. The LEAS team created our assessment within PowerDMS, guided us through the proof collection process and ultimately our agency was PLEAC accredited within a relatively short period of time. would highly recommend LEAS to any agency looking to get their policies updated and reach their goal of becoming an accredited law enforcement agency through PLEAC.” ~ Mark Schmidt, Chief of Police
"The Doylestown Township Police Department’s partnership with Law Enforcement Accredited Services was pivotal in our success in gaining PLEAC Accreditation. Craig Rudisill has a wealth of knowledge, and his constant communication was essential while moving through the process. Whether it was a question about a policy or a facility procedure we had in place, LEAS was always available to provide a recommendation or a confirmation so that we were on the mark. During each assessment, LEAS ensured they were present to guide us through the entire process. LEAS is a great company to work with and are true experts in the field of PLEAC Accreditation. Achieving Accredited status is a complex and fluid process which would’ve been much more difficult without partnering with LEAS. I would strongly recommend LEAS to any department looking to achieve accredited status through the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association." ~ Dean Logan, Chief of Police
"In the last quarter of 2019 we decided to make a determined push toward becoming an accredited agency. Our current personnel did not have much experience with the process so we started to explore the possibility of contracting out to a consultant. We looked at a couple of different options but, decided to go with LEAS as they were going to supply the complete package. LEAS came in and assessed our current policies and procedures and developed a plan to have the department accredited within 15 to 18 months. Craig at LEAS sat down with many of our staff to get a better picture of our systems and operating procedures and developed plans and tailored policies to meet our wishes yet conform to PLEAC’s stringent standards. LEAS built our assessment inside of PowerDMS and assisted us through the proof building process. They performed all of the detailed work inside of PowerDMS. The end result was that in a 15 month time frame we had a very successful on-site assessment where the lead assessor remarked that this was one of the easiest he had ever done.” ~ Daniel Friel, Chief of Police
"Our department had been trying to obtain accreditation status well before I became Chief of Police and was never successful. When I became Chief of Police in 2019, my ultimate goal was to obtain accreditation status. Upon recommendation, I reached out to LEAS for services to guide us in reaching this goal. From that point on, LEAS was very helpful in obtaining our accreditation status in May 2022. It was a smooth process and a great learning experience for our department. I want to thank LEAS for their assistance and continued services. I would highly recommend LEAS to any agency going through this process for their first accreditation." ~ Kevin Sharkey, Chief of Police
"Law enforcement accreditation provides police administrators with the guidance and tools to establish sound, up-to-date policies and procedures necessary to provide professional policing to the communities they serve. In today’s climate, all law enforcement agencies, regardless of size, should strongly consider accreditation. LEAS provides expert consultation in policies and managing the accreditation process at a reasonable cost. In addition, a third-party, such as LEAS, provides a different perspective on your department’s operations, often offering new and innovative ways to better serve the community. Their vast experience, guidance and managing of our accreditation program has been essential to our success. LEAS has been an outstanding partner and I highly recommend them to agencies seeking accreditation or those looking to maintain their accreditation status in a professional and efficient manner.” ~ James Gardner, Chief of Police
